Het is een massagevorm waarin zowel westerse kennis van gezondheidszorg als ook oosterse filosofie een belangrijke rol spelen. Door middel van diverse massagetechnieken in combinatie met bindweefselmasse oefent de masseur invloed uit op de huid, het gewrichtskapsel en \u2013banden, spieren en bloedvaten en betrekt hierbij de inwendige organen en het zenuwstelsel.
